The further we get into the season the more the legit teams that got off to slow starts are rising (Packers, Broncos, Saints) and the pretenders who got off to hot starts drop like rocks (Cardinals, Bengals).
As with last week the Falcons are not the best overall team in the league, in my opinion, but they are the only team without a loss and so they are again #1 after their bye week.
I shall begin my points now;
1. The Giants allowed RG3 to basically do whatever he damn well pleased, even as far as taking the lead with 1:30 left until two plays later when Eli Manning found Victor Cruz behind the Redskins secondary for a 77-yard TD bomb.
2. It appears the Giants need to be losing late in the 4th to be truly effective.
3. Robert Griffin III is unbelievable. He went 20-28, 258 passing, 2 TD passes to go with his 9 carries and 89 yards rushing. It seems that he does all this with very little effort, it’s shocking.
4. The Giants defense is borderline dreadful for 80% of every game.
5. Nearly everyone’s preseason ‘surprise’ team, the Buffalo Bills, has a 3-4 record through 7 weeks and even that was a struggle. In the four losses they have been outscored 180-93. Yikes.
6. It’s looking more and more like there’s four teams that are going to ride the bottom of the rankings all season. The Panthers, Browns, Jaguars, and Chiefs are wretched.
7. The Bills, Bucs, and Raiders are pretty close.
8. The top of this weeks rankings could easily be scrambled in a few weeks. None, not one, of the top teams is a ‘super’ team. Every team has a flaw either just waiting to be exploited or has already been exploited. Should make for quite an enjoyable rest of the season.
9. The Packers are eyeing the top spot. Two of their three losses are by 3 @ Indy and 2 @ Seattle. We all know about Golden Tate and his TD ‘catch’. The Pack should be a nice 6-3 going into their Week 10 bye with the next two at home against Jacksonville & Arizona.
10. Arizona has virtually no offense (a thing of wonder when Larry Fitzgerald is one of your weapons) and a defense that has come back down to earth after a surprising start. I can just see them plummeting down this list.
