Not yet, but they are #1 on his wish list to be traded to. Following the Knicks on his list, in order, are the Orlando Magic, Dallas Mavericks, and Portland Trail Blazers (this according to Chris Broussard of ESPN.com).

If the Knickerbockers could wrangle Chris Paul from the Hornets it would be a fantastic coup for a team that has been among the worst teams in the league the last handful of years. It would give them a tremendous base of Paul & Amar’e Stoudemire and a great reason for Carmelo Anthony to decline that three-year, $65 million contract extension from the Nuggets.
That in turn would set up nicely in restarting the heated (no pun intended) Knicks-Heat rivalry. I would be a fan of this, by the way.
My guess though would be the Orlando Magic (#2 on his trade wish list). There would be some extra baggage thrown in on this deal if it happened and it wouldn’t be all good for New Orleans.
That being said, imagine if Orlando could somehow pull off a trade that could net them Chris Paul and Emeka Okafor?
Let’s just say for the sake of argument the trade goes down like this…
New Orleans gets:
Vince Carter
Jameer Nelson
Marcin Gortat
maybe a throw in back of the bench type guy
Orlando gets:
Chris Paul
Emeka Okafor
James Posey
Now just imagine the Magic’s starting five…
PG – Chris Paul
SG – JJ Redick
SF – Mickael Pietrus
PF – Emeka Okafor
C – Dwight Howard
Try driving inside with Okafor and Howard in the middle. I dare you.
The Magic wouldn’t have some Miami-type super squad, but that is one very solid team. That’s a very strong defensive team and Orlando would have to alter their offensive game plan some, but this team competes with anyone if they can slow a game down and just maul people in the halfcourt offensively and defensively.
I love my fantasy world.
This is all just hyperbole, I know that and I know I have absolutely no idea where Paul will be.
What I do know is he will not be with the New Orleans Hornets when this season starts, it’s just a matter of where he ends up.
